The last DSL action took place Wednesday as minor league seasons start winding up.
-- Indianapolis edged Toledo, 1-0, in ten innings. Brandon Cumpton (pictured) allowed just two hits and two walks over seven innings. He fanned six. Kyle Farnsworth managed a scoreless inning despite giving up a hit and two walks. Duke Welker gave up a hit and struck out one in the 10th to get the save. The only run scored when Robert Andino hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Darren Ford, who had walked, stolen second and gone to third on a wild throw. Lucas May had three hits.
-- Altoona lost to Harrisburg, 2-0. Quinton Miller gave up the two runs on just three hits and two walks over five innings. Alen Hanson and Gregory Polanco each went 1-3 with a walk. Adalberto Santos and Alex Dickerson each went 2-4.
-- Bradenton blew a 4-0 lead in the 8th and lost in the 10th to Jupiter, 5-4. Zack Dodson threw five shutout innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, and striking out six. The long-lost Zack Von Rosenberg, who hadn't pitched in two months, followed with two scoreless innings. Converted infielder Kirk Singer, though, gave up four in the 8th and Zac Fuesser, just to be different from the other Zacks, gave up a run with one out in the 10th. Gift Ngoepe had two doubles in five ABs, and Dan Gamache and Taylor Lewis each went 2-4. Stetson Allie went 1-3 with a walk.
-- Luis Heredia threw five scoreless innings as West Virginia downed Asheville, 7-1. Heredia allowed five hits and three walks, and fanned four. Jordan Steranka went 3-3 with a walk and his second HR, and Max Moroff went 3-4 with a double and a walk. Josh Bell went 2-5.
-- Jamestown dropped a 2-1 decision to Mahoning Valley. Dovydas Neverauskas allowed just one run in five innings on five hits and a walk, with five strikeouts. Harold Ramirez went 2-4 with a double. The Jammers struck out 16 times.
-- The GCL Pirates lost to the Phillies, 7-4. Neil Kozikowski gave up four runs on seven hits in four innings. Adrian Grullon made his first appearance in over a month, giving up a run in one inning. Carlos Ozuna went 1-4 with a double. Reese McGuire went 1-3. Austin Meadows didn't play.
-- The DSL Pirates2 were eliminated from the playoffs when they dropped a 2-0 game to the Tigers. Michael De La Cruz went 2-3.
