Pirates to place 16 hitters on one-game playoff roster

The Pirates will have 16 hitters on their roster for the one-game playoff against the Reds, Tom Singer writes. That leaves nine spots for pitchers: Francisco Liriano, Gerrit Cole and seven relievers. The Pirates will have three catchers.

This was my roster projection from last week. It also contains nine pitchers and three catchers, although I had Charlie Morton in place of Cole, since I was assuming Cole would have started yesterday against the Reds.

The Pirates will, I'm sure, announce the full roster tomorrow.
