The Pirates will sign Taiwanese pitcher Yao-Hsun Yang, U Gotta Believe and Pirates Prospects report. It's a minor-league deal, but it could be somewhat significant, if only because Wang is 31. Teams generally don't sign 31-year-olds who aren't at least close to the majors. He's a lefty, he evidently doesn't throw as hard as he used to, and he's pitched in the WBC. He pitched for Fukuoka in Japan in 2012, striking out 45 batters in 42.2 innings and posting a 1.48 ERA.
