Tyler Glasnow to pitch for Bradenton Friday

Gregory Shamus

Tim Williams reports that Tyler Glasnow will make his 2014 debut on Friday for Bradenton. He reportedly hit 100 MPH seven times in his last rehab start, although he did struggle with his control. Glasnow had been out with back tightness.

This is nice news for an organization that has had several key prospects (including Jameson Taillon, Austin Meadows, Harold Ramirez and Clay Holmes) struggle with injury this season. The Pirates want Glasnow to work on his changeup this year, and hopefully he can continue to dominate the way he did in 2013. If he does, he'll probably be regarded as one of the best pitching prospects in the game by year's end.
