Pirates MiLB recap: 4/28/14

West Virginia was off and Altoona got rained out, so there were only two games on Monday.

-- Indianapolis lost in ten innings, 6-5.  The Indians had tied it with a run in the bottom of the 9th on a wild pitch, but Jared Hughes gave up a run in the 10th.  Starter Jay Jackson struggled again, giving up five runs in five innings, although he fanned seven.  Jackson has now struck out 24 in 19 innings, but his ERA is 8.05.  Josh Kinney threw four scoreless innings in between Jackson and Hughes.  Gregory Polanco (pictured) went 2-5 to stay at an even .400.  Andrew Lambo went 2-5 with two doubles.  Indy had runners on first and third with one out in the bottom of the 10th, but Chris McGuiness hit into a double play to end the game.

-- Bradenton fell to Fort Myers, 7-0, on a two-hit shutout.  Starter Orlando Castro gave up eight hits and four runs in four and a third innings.  Josh Bell and Jordan Steranka each went 1-3.
