-- Indianapolis edged Syracuse, 3-2. Adam Wilk allowed two runs in six innings. Phil Irwin, trying to turn around a horrific start by pitching in relief, faced four batters and got five outs thanks to a double play. Duke Welker retired the side in order in the 9th, striking out one. Lambo went 2-4 with his first HR. He's now hitting 354/440/557. In his last nine games he's batting .441 with eight extra-base hits. Chris McGuiness drove in the other two runs with his second HR, while Michael Martinez went 2-4 with two doubles. Gregory Polanco did not play.
-- Kingham got bombed as Altoona lost to Erie, 11-5. He gave up seven runs, six earned, in three and two-thirds innings. He allowed eight hits and two walks, and fanned only one. Andy Vasquez went 3-4 with a double, his second HR and three RBIs. Jarek Cunningham went 2-4 with a double. Stetson Allie went 1-2 and then came out of the game. Alen Hanson was 0-4 and Gift Ngoepe 1-4 with a double, and each struck out three times.
-- Bradenton lost to Fort Myers, 7-1. Starter Jason Creasy gave up one run in five innings. He allowed four hits, walked none and struck out four. Max Moroff went 2-4 with a double. Walker Gourley took a day off from pitching and went 2-4. Josh Bell went 0-4.
-- In game one of its doubleheader, West Virginia lost its eighth straight, losing 1-0 to Kannapolis on a walkoff hit in the bottom of the 7th. Starter Buddy Borden (pictured) threw six shutout innings, allowing just two hits, walking none and striking out three. JaCoby Jones went 2-3 and Erich Weiss 1-3.
-- The Power broke their losing streak in game two with a 5-2 win. Starter Felipe Gonzalez allowed one run in five innings on three hits and two walks, with one strikeout. Edwin Espinal and Wyatt Mathisen each went 2-3. Weiss went 2-4 with a triple and Danny Collins 2-4 with a double and a triple. Jones went 0-3 with a walk.
