Pirates MiL recap: It's mostly rain

The minor league season started with a lot of rain. Indianapolis' and Altoona's openers were rained out, and West Virginia's was suspended after two innings.

It would have been nice to have a gala opening day recap, but just one game was played to completion.

-- Bradenton dropped its opener to Charlotte, 5-4.  The Marauders got up early and Jason Creasy started off with four shutout innings, but he weakened in the 5th and allowed two runs.  Ryan Hafner had a rough outing, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks in two innings.  He fanned one.  Jordan Steranka (pictured) went 2-3 with a HR and a walk, and Jin-De Jhang celebrated skipping a level by going 2-3 with a double and a walk.  Jhang also threw out one of two base stealers.  Josh Bell went 2-5, but struck out to end the game with the tying run on base.  Adam Frazier went 1-4 with a walk and committed an error that led to the winning run.  Max Moroff was 0-4 with a walk.

-- West Virginia had its opener suspended with Lexington leading, 2-1.  JaCoby Jones drove in the Power's run with an RBI double.  Shane Carle gave up a two-run HR in the 2nd.
