-- Indianapolis played the wildest game of the day. Vance Worley gave up six runs against weak-hitting Charlotte in the 2nd, but then bounced back with four scoreless frames. Indy tied the game with three each in the 3rd and 4th, then finally went up by a run in the 8th. In the 9th, the Indians blew it open with eight runs for a 15-6 win. Chris McGuiness went 4-6 with three RBIs and Robert Andino 3-6 with two doubles. Gregory Polanco was 1-5 with a walk, a three run HR (#6), and three runs. Worley allowed the six runs, five earned, in six innings on seven hits and a walk, with three strikeouts. Andy Oliver struck out the side in the 8th and newcomer Josh Wall pitched a scoreless 9th, allowing two hits.
-- Altoona took an 8-1 lead, let Erie close to within 8-6, then scored three in the top of the 9th to take an 11-6 win. Matt Curry emerged from the Where Are They Now? file to go 3-5 with his second HR and four RBIs. Mel Rojas also went 3-5 with a HR, his fourth. Elias Diaz had a three-run HR, his second, in four ABs. Stetson Allie went 1-5 with two strikeouts and Alen Hanson didn't play. Zack Dodson had probably his best AA start, giving up one run in five innings on four hits and two walks, with five strikeouts.
-- Bradenton scored five in the 1st and cruised to a 9-2 win over Daytona. Starter Chad Kuhl allowed two runs, one earned, in six and a third innings. He gave up four hits and a walk, and fanned two. Raul Fortunato went 3-4 with his first HR, Max Moroff 2-5 with a double, and Walker Gourley 2-3 with a walk. Josh Bell went 1-4 with a walk.
-- West Virginia took a 7-2 lead and hung on to beat Lakewood, 8-6. Elvis Escobar (pictured) went 3-4 with a double and four RBIs. Harold Ramirez also went 3-4 with a double and JaCoby Jones 3-5. Reese McGuire went 2-4 with a walk. Starter Justin Topa allowed two runs in five innings on six hits and no walks. He struck out five.
