-- Brandon Cumpton (pictured) continued his strong pitching at the AAA level, but Indianapolis still lost its third straight to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and fourth straight overall, 3-1. Cumpton allowed just two unearned runs in seven innings. He gave up five hits and a walk, and struck out three. Gregory Polanco went his standard 2-4 with a double and Jaff Decker went 2-3 with a walk and a double.
-- Altoona beat Bowie, 6-5, on a walkoff single by Mel Rojas in the bottom of the 9th. Rojas went 3-4 overall with his second HR and three RBIs. Gift Ngoepe, Stetson Allie and Willy Garcia all went 0-4 with three strikeouts. In his last eight games, Allie is 3-for-27 with 16 whiffs. Keon Broxton and Andy Vasquez each had two hits. Alen Hanson didn't play. Joely Rodriguez bounced back somewhat, allowing just one run in five innings. He gave up six hits and two walks, and struck out two.
-- Bradenton rallied for four runs in the bottom of the 9th, the last one on a walkoff, two-out single by Jonathan Schwind, to beat Charlotte, 6-5. Adam Frazier went 2-5, Josh Bell 2-3 with a walk, and Jin-De Jhang 2-4. Starter Pat Ludwig gave up five runs on eight hits and five and a third innings.
-- West Virginia got hammered by Savannah, 9-3. Most of the damage came against relievers Jerry Mulderig and Clario Perez, who combined to give up seven runs, five earned, in two innings. Wyatt Mathisen went 2-4 with his third HR, all of them in his last five games. JaCoby Jones was 2-3 with a walk and Reese McGuire 2-4.
