-- Altoona lost to Reading, 5-2. Alen Hanson went 2-4 and Andy Vasquez hit his fourth HR. Joan Montero made his first start of the year, allowing a run in four innings.
-- A four-run rally in the 7th fell short and West Virginia lost the first game of its doubleheader with Delmarva, 6-4. Cody Dickson pitched decently after a bad first inning. Overall, he allowed three runs in five innings. He gave up five hits and two walks, and fanned four. Wyatt Mathisen was 2-3 and Kawika Emsley-Pai hit his first HR. JaCoby Jones and Harold Ramirez each went 1-3.
Dovydas Neverauskas got torched for eight runs in less than two innings as the Power also lost game two, 14-5. The loss extended their losing streak to 13 games and dropped their record to 20-47. McGuire was 2-3 with his first pro HR. Edwin Espinal was 3-4 with a double, Mathisen 2-3 with a triple and a walk, and Chris Diaz 2-4 with a double.
-- Jamestown got its first win, 4-1 over Mahoning Valley. Starter Marek Minarik (pictured) threw four scoreless innings. He gave up one hit and three walks, and fanned three. In case you're wondering, Minarik is a 6'7" RHP from the Czech Republic whom the Phillies released after just 20 pretty decent innings. Taylor Gushue went deep for the second day in a row. Overall he was 1-4 with two strikeouts. Michael Suchy made his pro debut, going 2-3 with a triple and a walk.
