Pirates to sign 26th-rounder Jerrick Suiter

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

The Pirates have agreed to terms with 26th-round draft pick Jerrick Suiter, Tim Williams reports. He was a junior at TCU, and it's a little surprising that the Pirates signed him. He's a corner outfielder and didn't hit a single home run in his college career (even though he's a big guy, as you can see above). His .351 OBP wasn't much to write home about, either. I doubt the Pirates gave him a huge bonus, so he should have had some incentive to go back to school and play his senior season.

Here are the players who have agreed to terms so far. The key unsigned players are probably 11th-rounder Gage Hinsz, 23rd-rounder Zach Warren, 34th-rounder Colin Welmon and 37th-rounder Bryant Holtmann.
