Top Pirates prospect Alen Hanson is missing his his fifth straight game for the Altoona Curve with some sort of suspension, Cory Giger reports.
This is a little odd, since David Manel just talked to Hanson a few days ago. If the suspension is for a new disciplinary issue, it must have happened this weekend in Portland. In any case, it's rare for a minor leaguer to be suspended this long.
Hanson, 21, is hitting .275/.311/.436 for the Curve.
UPDATE: The Pirates say that Hanson has not been suspended. There's no way to know if that's true. Giger continues to assert that his original report was correct.
