Josh Bell, Orlando Castro make Florida State League All-Star game

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Marauders have announced that outfielder Josh Bell and pitcher Orlando Castro have made the FSL All-Star Game, which will be held June 14 at McKechnie Field.

Bell has hit .308/.354/.466 with five home runs so far this season, and it's been a nice progression for a top prospect who posted roughly similar numbers at West Virginia last year. Castro, meanwhile, has posted a 2.77 ERA with 45 strikeouts and eight walks in 61 2/3 innings. They're definitely the most deserving All-Stars on the team -- much of the offense has struggled, and Castro has clearly been their most effective starting pitcher. (Chad Kuhl, Jason Creasy and Tyler Glasnow all have interesting lines as well, even though Glasnow has walked far too many batters.) As a small lefty with underwhelming stuff, though, Castro isn't much of a prospect, or at least he won't be until he proves he can succeed against more advanced competition.
