Pirates to promote Gregory Polanco

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Gregory Polanco tweets that he has been promoted and will be with the team tomorrow.

There isn't much to say about this at this point, except that it's great, and it's about time. The Pirates must feel confident that the Super Two deadline has passed.

Polanco, of course, sat out of tonight's Indianapolis game. Meanwhile, Neil Walker had an appedectomy and has landed on the 15-day disabled list, so there's your corresponding move. The Bucs will presumably move Josh Harrison from the outfield to second base until Walker comes back, at which point they'll have to reshuffle again. What's clear, though, is that Polanco will be in right field for the foreseeable future, and that's a wonderful, wonderful thing.
