The Tigers have acquired David Price. Tampa will apparently get big-league players back in return, which sort of makes sense, in that the Tigers' minor league system isn't the best. It's apparently a three-way deal, also involving the Mariners. Austin Jackson (who I assume is going to Seattle) and Drew Smyly are part of the deal. Nick Franklin is going to the Rays.
The Pirates had been connected to Price, although, as I've noted here before, they don't usually make huge trades of the sort that would be required to get a veteran like Price.
