-- Indianapolis beat Buffalo, 6-4. Casey Sadler gave up a two-run HR in the 1st, but recovered to allow just one more run in seven total innings. He gave up six hits and a walk, and fanned three. Andy Oliver got his 13th save by getting the last four outs, two on strikeouts. He walked one. Andrew Lambo was 3-5 with a double. Chase d'Arnaud and Nevin Ashley were each 2-4 with a double. The Indians' winning rally came against Kyle Drabek and Mike Zagurski.
-- Altoona scored seven runs in the first two innings and hung on to beat Richmond, 8-5. Josh Bell was 3-5, Willy Garcia 2-4 with his 15th HR, and Stetson Allie 2-5 with a double and three RBIs. Alen Hanson was 1-3 with a triple, and then Gift Ngoepe pinch-hit for him. The move came after a half inning in which Hanson had no chances in the field, so there's no obvious reason to explain it. Zack Dodson allowed just four hits and two walks in five and two-thirds innings, but was victimized by his defense, which committed four errors. He was charged with five runs, only two earned. Dodson fanned two. Jeff Inman finished the game with two perfect innings, striking out two.
-- Bradenton scored five in the 2nd and coasted to an 8-0 win over Daytona. John Kuchno somehow got through five and a third scoreless innings despite walking eight. He gave up three hits and fanned two. The bullpen walked another four, so Bradenton recorded the rare dozen-walk shutout. Osuna (pictured) was 3-5 overall and the HRs were his sixth and seventh. Walker Gourley was 2-5 and Justin Maffei 2-4.
-- West Virginia lost to Lexington, 5-4. Starter Dovydas Neverauskas allowed two runs on eight hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out four and left with a 4-2 lead, but the bullpen couldn't hold it. Edwin Espinal was 3-4, Erich Weiss 2-3, and Wyatt Mathisen and Francisco Diaz each 2-4. Reese McGuire was 1-4 with a triple and JaCoby Jones 1-4 with a double and a walk. The Power hitters fanned 15 times, including Austin Meadows four times in five ABs.
-- Jamestown took a 4-1 win in the first game of its doubleheader with the NYPL's best team, Hudson Valley. Starter Austin Coley returned from a shoulder strain to pitch two scoreless innings. He gave up a hit and a walk, and struck out two. Montana DuRapau gave up one run over the last five innings on three hits and a walk. He struck out five. Elvis Escobar was 2-3, and Michael Suchy and Erik Lunde had triples.
The Jammers also took the second game, 4-2, with all of the runs scoring in the 1st inning. David Andriese was 3-3 with a double and Jordan Luplow 2-2 with two doubles. Escobar and Kevin Krause each went 2-3. Nick Neumann got the win with two and a third perfect inning in relief. He fanned three.
-- After struggling all season to score runs, Bristol turned 13 hits and nine walks into a 12-2 blowout of Bluefield. Candon Myles and Jerrick Suiter each drove in three runs. Myles was 2-3 with two walks and Suiter 2-4 with a walk and his first HR. In fact, Suiter never hit one in college, either, despite having good size. Enyel Vallejo was 3-4 with a double, Pablo Reyes 2-4 with a double, and Trae Arbet 2-5. Starter Hector Garcia allowed one run in five innings. He gave up three hits, walked none and fanned six. Garcia's an interesting pitcher. He's a 6'0" lefty who's only 18. He had some mild control problems in his first few starts, but over his last 16.2 IP he's walked only two and fanned 19.
-- The GCL Pirates dropped a 6-4 decision to the Astros. Starter Mitch Keller allowed just an unearned run in three innings. The only runner who reached on him got on base on an error. Keller fanned three. Carlos Munoz was 2-4 with three RBIs, Julio De La Cruz 2-4 with a double, and Henrry Rosario 2-5 with a double.
-- The DSL Pirates got a 5-4 win over the Mets2 on a walkoff, tenth inning error. Yunelky Adames was 2-2 with a walk. Yeudy Garcia threw five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk. He fanned four.
