Pirates promote Brandon Cumpton

The Pirates have officially placed Gerrit Cole on the disabled list and promoted Brandon Cumpton, who will start tonight.

It is, of course, a shame to lose Cole again, but it's nice that the Pirates have depth as good as Cumpton, who in nine starts so far this year continued his trend of walking very few big-league batters. His 4.61 ERA is inflated by one ground-ball-heavy disaster start against the Dodgers. We'll see if he can avoid trouble this time.
