Starling Marte to bereavement list; Matt Hague with Pirates

Starling Marte's locker is clear and Matt Hague is with the Pirates, Rob Biertempfel reports. There's no word on what might be going on with Marte.

One also wonders why the Pirates appear set to promote Hague, who isn't on the 40-man roster and isn't an outfielder, rather than Jaff Decker, who is both. It might have something to do with Hague being right-handed. Lots of mysteries here. We should know more shortly. In any case, good for Hague for making it back to the majors after about two years away.

UPDATE: Ah -- Marte is on the bereavement list. Hague will probably only be with the Bucs for a few days. Also, Francisco Liriano will start for the Pirates on Sunday, with Vance Worley heading to the bullpen.
