The Pirates' season is over, but there's still baseball happening in the kinds of places that are still warm. Most leagues have just begun their seasons. Here's the latest from Pirates players in winter ball, focusing on the players most likely to make an impact for the Bucs in the future.
-P- Infielder Adam Frazier, who hit very well at Altoona this season, went 3-for-4 with two triples and a walk yesterday in his Arizona Fall League debut. Elsewhere in the AFL, Reese McGuire went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks yesterday. Austin Meadows is 0-for-8 in two games, and Cody Dickson has pitched one scoreless inning.
-P- In Mexico, Luis Heredia pitched an inning yesterday and allowed one run, walking two. Bristol masher Carlos Munoz is 2-for-10 thus far, but with a homer, a double and two walks. Harold Ramirez is 3-for-17 thus far.
-P- In Venezuela, outfielder Elvis Escobar has appeared in three games and is 1-for-5. Jose Osuna is 4-for-12 with a double. 2015 Indianapolis reliever A.J. Morris has appeared in two games, making one start, and allowed five runs (two earned) over 4.2 innings. Julio Vivas, who pitched in 2015 in West Virginia and Bradenton, has pitched two innings and allowed one run and two walks.
