We'll have a new episode of the Bucs Dugout Podcast coming later today, but for now, check out Kiley McDaniel of FanGraphs' top 200 prospects list, which includes seven Pirates. Unsurprisingly, Tyler Glasnow ranks the highest, at No. 12. Austin Meadows is at No. 30, one ahead of David Dahl, the player the Bucs would reportedly have taken if they hadn't selected Mark Appel in 2012. The Pirates took Meadows, of course, with the comp pick they got for not signing Appel. McDaniel notes that Meadows gets frequent Jay Bruce comparisons, and notes that he profiles as a power-hitting corner outfielder.
Jameson Taillon (No. 66), Josh Bell (all the way down at No. 103, although McDaniel does say Bell looks like a big-league regular), Nick Kingham (No. 111), and Alen Hanson and Reese McGuire (who are in an unranked clump with 50-plus other players at the end) also make the list.
