-P- The Pirates have released infielder Kevin Ross, their eighth-round pick in 2012. He was recently suspended for 50 games for failing a second failed drug test (for a drug of abuse). He also missed much of the 2013 season while on the restricted list. He received a $130,000 bonus when he signed and looked to have some upside at the time, but not being on the field surely made it difficult for him to realize it.
