Matt Morris Report: Austin Meadows heats up

-- Indianapolis got more good pitching from reclamation projects and scored two more runs in a 2-1 win over Columbus.  Wilfredo Boscan allowed just an unearned run and two hits over six innings.  He walked none and struck out six.  Deolis Guerra followed with two scoreless innings.  John Holdzkom pitched a perfect 9th, fanning one.  After a strike-zone-challenged first appearance, Holdzkom threw ten of eleven pitches for strikes.  Mel Rojas went 3-4.  Chris Stewart caught the whole game and went 2-4.

-- Altoona picked up its own 2-1 win, this one over Harrisburg and starter Tim Alderson.  Chad Kuhl gave up a run on four hits and two walks in five innings.  He struck out five.  Tom Harlan and Yhonathan Barrios combined for four scoreless innings in relief.  Keon Broxton was 2-4 and Josh Bell 1-4.

-- Austin Meadows homered to lead off the bottom of the 1st as Bradenton finally got in the win column with a 7-5 victory over St. Lucie.  Meadows finished 3-4 with a walk.  Wyatt Mathisen (pictured) also went 3-4, with a triple.  JaCoby Jones was 1-4 with a HR and Barrett Barnes 0-4.  Reese McGuire didn't play.  Steven Brault made his first Pirates start, throwing four shutout innings before running into trouble in the 5th.  He left with one out and the bases loaded, and reliever Julio Vivas let all three runners score.  Brault was charged with four runs total, three of them earned.  He gave up four hits, walked one and fanned five.

-- West Virginia beat Savannah, 6-3.  Starter Austin Coley gave up two runs on four hits in five innings.  He walked one and struck out two.  Sam Street threw three scoreless innings in relief, fanning four.  Trace Tam Sing went 2-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.  Chase Simpson was 2-3 with a double and Tito Polo! 1-3.  Cole Tucker was 0-4.
