Altoona was off.
-- Indianapolis lost to Pawtucket, 7-4. Clayton Richard had a rougher time than in his previous AAA start, giving up three runs on seven hits and four walks in five and two-thirds innings. He struck out two and took 100 pitches to get through that many innings. (On the plus side, he threw 100 pitches.) Alen Hanson went 2-5 with a double and Tony Sanchez 2-3 with a double, triple and walk. Elias Diaz was 1-3.
-- Bradenton got hammered by Fort Myers, 11-5. The Marauders apparently were short a starter, although I'm not sure why. Matt Benedict moved up to AAA to make a spot start two days ago, but Frank Duncan was available on normal rest. Anyway, a series of relievers got pummeled. Jin-De Jhang was 3-4 and Jose Osuna 2-5 with his third HR. Austin Meadows was 0-5 and Reese McGuire 1-5. JaCoby Jones didn't play, nor did Barrett Barnes.
-- John Sever (pictured) and two relievers combined on a two-hitter as West Virginia downed Hickory, 3-1. Sever gave up an unearned run, two hits and two walks in five and a third innings. He fanned five. Montana DuRapau and Junior Lopez struck out four over a combined hitless three and two-thirds. Cole Tucker and Pablo Reyes went 2-4, and Reyes hit his fifth HR. Connor Joe was 0-4.
