Matt Morris Report: Alen Hanson stays hot

-- Indianapolis beat Syracuse, 6-4.  Chris Volstad, back in the rotation, gave up two runs in six innings.  He allowed six hits and two walks, and struck out five.  Blake Wood got the last four outs for his 11th save.  Alen Hanson had a double and his second HR in four at-bats, raising his average to .301.  He drove in three runs.  Jaff Decker and Gorkys Hernandez each had two hits, and Elias Diaz had a pinch-hit, RBI single.

-- Altoona lost to New Hampshire, 6-3.  Chad Kuhl continued the return to earth of the Curve's starters, allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks in six and two-thirds innings.  He struck out two.  Josh Bell and Willy Garcia each went 2-5, Dan Gamache 2-4 and Gift Ngoepe 2-3.

-- Bradenton lost to Lakeland in ten innings, 4-3.  Starter Cody Dickson gave up three runs on six hits and two walks in five and two-thirds innings.  He struck out three.  Edwin Espinal was 2-3 with a double and Jose Osuna 2-5.  JaCoby Jones hit his fifth HR, Barrett Barnes went 1-4 with a triple and a walk and Reese McGuire went 1-4.  Austin Meadows didn't play.

-- West Virginia beat Delmarva, 4-1.  Austin Coley gave up one run in six innings.  He allowed four hits and a walk, and struck out seven.  Jake Burnette and Junior Lopez combined to strike out another five in three innings.  Pablo Reyes (pictured) was 3-4 with a triple and Cole Tucker 2-4.
