Game thread: A.J. Burnett takes on the Brewers

Notes:

- Andrew McCutchen is getting the night off due to some soreness in his knee, Clint Hurdle said.

"I think he complicated it a little bit getting out of the box the fourth at bat [yesterday]," Hurdle said. "I felt he would need to come out after his last at bat, but [McCutchen] said, 'No, it just catches. I can finish and go play defense.' We'll set him down today and give him a blow."

- This afternoon, Jameson Taillon threw 47 pitches over four innings "without problem, without incident" in extended Spring Training, Hurdle said.
