Unsurprisingly, Tyler Glasnow tops Baseball America's midseason list of the Pirates' top 10 prospects (subscription only). Following him is Josh Bell, although BA's Matt Eddy notes that Bell needs work with both his swing and his defensive footwork. The rest of the top ten is fairly familiar -- perhaps the most surprising placement is Cole Tucker all the way up at No. 6.
After the top 10, Eddy lists West Virginia Power righty Yeudy Garcia as a player to watch, noting that Garcia has "come out of nowhere" thanks to his 95-98 MPH fastball.
Eddy lists Harold Ramirez among players whose stock is falling this year. We'll see, I guess, and it's never a promising sign when a team holds a player back for being out of shape, but Ramirez is hitting .356/.402/.477 as a 20-year-old at Bradenton. He hasn't shown much home run power, and as Eddy notes, Ramirez has struggled to steal bases, but I'm not going to handwring too much over Ramirez just yet.
