Indianapolis and Altoona were off. Bristol got rained out for the ninth time out of 22 scheduled game dates.
-- JaCoby Jones (pictured) drove in four runs as Bradenton thrashed Lakeland, 11-2. Jones went 3-5 with two doubles and his tenth HR. Austin Meadows and Erich Weiss also went 3-5, with Meadows collecting a triple. Reese McGuire was 3-4. Cody Dickson gave up one run in five innings. He allowed three hits and a walk, and struck out five.
-- The West Virginia Power lost the first game of a doubleheader to Hagerstown, 3-2. Alex McRae gave up three runs on seven hits in four innings. John Sever faced the minimum in two innings of relief, striking out two. The Power had only three hits. Cole Tucker was 0-2 and Connor Joe 0-3.
The Power took the second game, 5-0. Yeudy Garcia threw five shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk, and fanning three. Elvis Escobar hit his third HR, a three-run shot. Jordan Luplow hit his sixth. Tucker and Joe didn't play.
-- The West Virginia Black Bears lost to State College, 10-7. J.T. Brubaker had another rough start, giving up five runs in three and two-thirds innings. Logan Hill went 3-5 with three RBIs and is now hitting .342 with 23 RBIs in 21 games. Danny Arribas was 2-5. Kevin Newman was 1-4 with a walk and Kevin Kramer 1-3 with a walk.
-- The GCL Pirates got routed by the Yankees2, 10-2. Starter Luis Escobar pitched well, allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk in four innings. He struck out four. Ke'Bryan Hayes and Raul Siri each went 2-3, and Jhoan Herrera 2-4. Siri had a double. Adrian Valerio and Michael De La Cruz both went 0-4.
-- The DSL Pirates lost to the Mets2, 8-5. Starter Argenis Romano threw five shutout innings, but Adonis Pichardo gave up five runs in one inning of relief. Yondry Contreras and Melvin Jimenez each went 2-4, with Contreras connecting for his second HR. Huascar Fuentes hit his fourth HR.
