The Pirates have announced that three of their minor leaguers received monthly honors for July in their respective leagues.

West Virginia Power starter Yeudy Garcia was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Month (not Pitcher of the Month, apparently). The hard-throwing Garcia pitched 30 innings in July, striking out 23, walking five and going 6-0 while allowing just three earned runs.

West Virginia Black Bears outfielder Logan Hill was named the NY-Penn League Player of the Month. Hill hit .330/.450/.560 with 11 extra-base hits and six stolen bases. That's not bad for a 25th-round pick in this year's draft.

Finally, Bristol first baseman Carlos Munoz was named the Appalachian League Player of the Month. He hit a ridiculous .396/.461/.733 with 20 extra-base hits (!), including seven home runs. For the season, he leads the Appalachian League in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging, and his OPS is 145 points higher than the league's next-best player.
