Wilfredo Boscan has evidently accepted his outright assignment and will start for Indianapolis tonight.

The Pirates designated Boscan for assignment when the Indians rescinded their waiver claim on Deolis Guerra last week. The Bucs have promoted Boscan three times this year, but he hasn't yet pitched in the majors. He's 25 and has middling numbers at Indianapolis, with a 3.33 ERA but also 6.0 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9. He'll continue to provide pitching depth for the Pirates for the next few weeks, however, and if nothing else, he should help an Indianapolis staff that's suffered a number of recent injuries. Boscan might be a September callup, but the fact that he's not on the 40-man roster anymore will work against him. He'll likely go elsewhere as a minor league free agent this offseason.
As you can see from the tweet above, the Pirates also placed Angel Sanchez on the DL, apparently with a forearm strain. He left his last start last week due to injury.
