Morgantown was still off for the NYPL All-Star break.
-- Indianapolis lost to Norfolk, 4-3. Blake Wood walked three in the top of the 9th, the last one with the bases loaded, to break a 3-3 tie. Wilfredo Boscan gave up two runs over six and two-thirds innings. He allowed five hits, walked none and struck out five. Josh Harrison and Jordy Mercer each played the entire game, going 0-3 with a walk and 0-4, respectively. Willy Garcia was 2-4 with a double. Josh Bell was 1-4 with a double and Alen Hanson 1-4.
-- Altoona dropped a 2-1 game to Portland. Starter Chad Kuhl threw six shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk, and striking out three. Thomas Harlan gave up a two-run HR in the 7th. The Curve had only four hits, two by Erich Weiss, who's hitting .324 since his promotion.
-- Bradenton beat St. Lucie, 5-2. Luis Heredia struggled again, allowing only one run but exiting after three and two thirds innings due to four walks. He gave up five hits and struck out four. Montana DuRapau struck out the side in the 9th. Harold Ramirez went 3-5 and Jin-De Jhang (pictured) 2-4 with his fourth HR. Austin Meadows and Jordan Steranka each went 2-5.
-- West Virginia scored a run in the top of the 9th to edge Lexington, 7-6. Jerrick Suiter went 4-5, raising his average to .303. Pablo Reyes was 2-3 with his 11th HR and four RBIs, including the game-winner on a sacrifice fly. Connor Joe was 2-4, and Kevin Newman and Elvis Escobar each 2-5. Starter Colten Brewer gave up five runs, four earned, over five innings.
-- Bristol's game with Bluefield got underway well over two hours late due to a rain delay. The game was scoreless after two innings as I write this. Gage Hinsz was on the mound for Bristol. The box score is here.
-- The GCL Pirates got shut out by the Yankees2, 6-0. Starter Nestor Oronel gave up four runs, three earned, over five innings. The Pirates had only three hits, although they drew eight walks and went 0-9 with runners in scoring position. Raul Siri and Edison Lantigua had doubles, and Ke'Bryan Hayes went 1-4.
-- The DSL Pirates beat the Brewers, 9-6. Starter Miguel Hernandez allowed no hits over four innings while fanning seven. He did give up two walks and an unearned run. Williams Calderon went 2-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Christopher Perez and Raul Hernandez each went 2-4.
