Keith Law lists the Pirates' top 20 prospects at ESPN. It's Insider only, and I won't give the whole list, but here are some highlights.
-P- As we've already seen, Law listed four Pirates prospects (Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, Kevin Newman and Josh Bell) in his overall top 100. Another player, Ke'Bryan Hayes, just missed the list.
-P- Law lists Jameson Taillon as the Bucs' seventh-best prospect, noting that his injury issues have made him a risky player.
-P- Like everyone else, Law praises Reese McGuire's defense. Law writes, however, that McGuire isn't likely to hit well enough to start.
-P- One name I was a bit surprised to see was that of Luis Escobar, who Law names the Bucs' 12th-best prospect. The 19-year-old Escobar spent most of last season in the Gulf Coast League, and Law notes that he's a bit small, but praises his arsenal (low- to mid-90s fastball with a decent changeup and the potential to throw a decent curve) and suggests that both he and Yeudy Garcia could make noise in the coming season.
