Gamethread: Pirates visit Braves

Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

The Pirates take to the road for a game with the Braves at 1:05 PM.  The scheduled pitchers could end up as the entire Indianapolis rotation at some point:  Tyler Glasnow starting, followed by Jameson Taillon, Steven Brault, Chad Kuhl and Trevor Williams.  For all five, it will be the first appearance of the spring apart from the black & gold game.

The scheduled starting lineup is as follows:

1.  Cole Figueroa, SS
2.  Matt Joyce, LF
3.  Gregory Polanco, DH
4.  Starling Marte, CF
5.  Mike Morse, 1B
6.  Jason Rogers, 3B
7.  Chris Stewart, C
8.  Sean Rodriguez, 2B
9.  Danny Ortiz, RF

They're obviously taking a real look at Jason Rogers playing third base.  Of course, playing time at first is probably going to be hard to come by, as John Jaso needs a lot of time there and it wouldn't hurt for Mike Morse to play there a fair amount, too.  And they're trying to get a look at Jake Goebbert as well.  I'll be curious to see whether some of those guys get some time at first in minor league exhibitions, once they start.  Normally, players still in major league camp only hit when they appear in minor league spring games.
