The Bradenton Marauders have announced their opening day roster for 2016. The team will be primarily comprised of last year's West Virginia Power team, which went a league-best 87-52, plus a handful of college draftees from 2015, most of whom played a role for the New York-Penn League champion West Virginia Black Bears.
Catcher: Taylor Gushue, Erik Lunde, Tomas Morales
Infield: Kevin Kramer, Kevin Newman, Connor Joe, Pablo Reyes, Chase Simpson, Trace Tam Sing
Outfield: Michael Suchy, Jordan Luplow, Jerrick Suiter, Logan Hill, Elvis Escobar, Jeff Roy
Rotation: Yeudy Garcia, Brandon Waddell, Colten Brewer, Austin Coley, Alex McRae
Bullpen: Luis Heredia, Henry Hirsch, Junior Lopez, Miguel Rosario, Nick Neumann, Edgar Santana, and Sam Street
Notes
-- Not listed above is Stephen Tarpley, who'll miss the beginning of the season with a quad issue. He'll be in the rotation once he's ready.
-- Waddell is the only lefty on the staff for now.
-- Although Suiter and Luplow are listed as outfielders, they should see time in the infield. In fact, Suiter is slated to be the primary first baseman. Luplow played third last year, but will move primarily to left to make way for Joe.
-- As advertised, Heredia is moving to the bullpen. He's shown increased velocity so far this spring in one-inning outings.
