A couple quick notes in advance of tonight's game against Yu Darvish and the Rangers:
- The Pirates have announced that they've reinstated Tony Watson from the paternity list and optioned Kyle Lobstein to Indianapolis. That move will come as somewhat of a relief to folks like myself who felt like the Pirates have been close to bullpen meltdowns at various points these last few days, despite the team's current winning streak. Lobstein was certainly a part of that; Watson, hopefully, can help stop it from happening.
- The Bucs have promoted Cole Tucker from West Virginia to Bradenton. Tucker was hitting .262/.308/.443 in 61 at-bats at West Virginia. Those aren't outstanding numbers, but Tucker played most of last season at West Virginia and held his own despite being very young for the level. He's also hit well in the last week, with three multi-hit games in his past five, after getting off to a slow start in early May while returning from injury.
