Cannonballs coming: Stephen Tarpley pitches well

Indianapolis and Altoona were both off.

-- Bradenton (34-28) lost to Clearwater, 3-1.  Stephen Tarpley (pictured) had a good start, allowing just one run in six innings.  He gave up eight hits, but fanned six and didn't walk a batter, while throwing 57 of 81 pitches for strikes.  Tate Scioneaux took the loss, allowing two runs in an inning and two-thirds.  Both runs scored after he left.  Scioneaux gave up a hit and two walks, and struck out one.  The Marauders had only four hits.  Others:

-- West Virginia (32-31) beat Lexington, 5-3.  The Power failed to hold a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth, but Mitchell Tolman, who went 3-4 with a walk, got a two-run infield hit in the ninth.  Tanner Anderson moved from the bullpen to replace J.T. Brubaker and allowed an unearned run in six innings.  He gave up five hits, walked none and struck out five.  Others:

Tito Polo!, Christian Kelley, Tyler Filliben:  All were 2-4 with a double
Ke'Bryan Hayes, Carlos Munoz, Daniel Arribas:  All were 0-4

-- The DSL Pirates (2-6) lost to the Mets1, 4-1.  Yeudry Manzanillo gave up three runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks in three and two-thirds innings.  He struck out two.  Kevin Sanchez was 2-4.  Others:
