Wednesday's Indianapolis/Columbus matchup is described in detail here. Here's the rest of Wednesday's action.
-P- Altoona lost to Erie, 7-1. Starter Brandon Waddell continued to have a somewhat rough time in Double-A -- he got through just 4.2 innings, allowing four runs while striking out two and walking three. Austin Meadows had three hits, including a homer and a double. Edwin Espinal and Anderson Feliz also had three hits apiece.
-P- Bradenton's matchup against Tampa was suspended.
-P- West Virginia beat Delmarva 7-2 in a game that, mercifully, lasted only nine innings. Logan Sendelbach pitched six strong innings, striking out seven and walking three while allowing two runs. Tito Polo and Mitchell Tolman each had two hits, with Polo notching a triple and Tolman a double.
-P- The DSL Pirates lost a doubleheader against one of the Yankees' DSL teams. They managed only three hits in the first game, a 6-0 drubbing; outfielder Jeremias Portorreal and catcher Samuel Inoa both doubled. In the second game, they lost 3-2. Starter Leandro Pina allowed only one unearned run over five innings, although he struck out none and walked two. First baseman Williams Calderon had two hits, including a double.
