Cannonballs coming: Kingham rehabs, Kranick debuts

-- Bradenton (47-41) pounded out 15 hits in an 8-5 win over Dunedin.  Elias Diaz continued his rehab with a 4-5 game.  Cole Tucker went 1-4 with two walks and his first high A HR.  Elvis Escobar went 2-5 with his fourth HR.  Austin Coley gave up four runs in the first, but threw shutout ball for the rest of his six innings.

-- Mitch Keller required only 80 pitches to throw seven shutout innings in West Virginia's (45-44) 3-0 win over Augusta.  Keller allowed just two hits, walked none and struck out three.  Ryan Nagle and Logan Ratledge each had two hits.

-- Morgantown (11-15) suffered its 15th loss in its last 21 games, 10-3, to Hudson Valley.  Stephan Meyer gave up only five hits in six innings and didn't walk anybody, although he hit two, but he gave up four runs.  Will Craig was 0-2 with two walks.  Hunter Owen went 2-3 with a double and a walk.

-- Bristol (8-11) couldn't overcome a six-run first inning and lost to Kingsport, 7-4.  Blake Cederlind failed to get out of the first, retiring only one batter and allowing six runs, five earned.  The Pirates had only five hits.

-- The GCL Pirates (7-10) scored five in the eighth to beat the Yankees East, 8-3.  Nick Kingham made his second rehab start, going four innings and allowing a run on two hits.  He walked none and struck out two.  According to Pirates Prospects (sub. req'd), his velocity was 92-93, which was 2 mph higher than his first outing.  Kingham was followed by the pro debut of the Pirates' 11th round draft pick, Max Kranick.  He threw two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk, and striking out one.  On offense, Edison Lantigua went 3-4 with a double.

Raul Hernandez, Yondry Contreras:  each 2-4

-- The DSL Pirates (12-22) dropped the Yankees1 by a 3-2 score.  Leandro Pina went five shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks, and striking out three.  He now has an ERA of 0.53 and WHIP of 0.94.  The Pirates had only six hits.
