Cannonballs coming: Austin Meadows returns

-- A walkoff single by Danny Ortiz gave Indianapolis (55-52) a 2-1 win over Norfolk in 12 innings.  Wilfredo Boscan threw five and a third shutout innings.  The Indians had only five hits and struck out 13 times.  Jose Osuna was 2-5 with a double.

-- Altoona (58-47) lost to Trenton, 3-1.  Tyler Eppler gave up three runs on nine hits in six and two-thirds innings.  He walked none and struck out two.  Edwin Espinal was 2-4 with a double.

-- Bradenton (54-49) lost the first game of its doubleheader with Daytona, 4-2.  Buddy Borden continued to struggle since being reacquired, allowing three runs on ten hits in five innings.  Wyatt Mathisen was 2-3 with a double.

The Marauders also lost game two, 4-3.  Colten Brewer allowed two runs over four innings.  Elvis Escobar went 3-3.

-- West Virginia (51-52) lost the first game of its doubleheader with Delmarva, 3-1.  Logan Sendelbach failed to get out of the first inning, allowing all three of the runs.  The Power had only five hits.

Julio Vivas:  4.1 IP, 3 H, BB, 6 K

The Power also lost game two, 5-2, to complete the sweep.  Yunior Montero, who's normally a reliever, got the start and struck out eight in four and two-thirds innings.  He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk.  The Power had only three hits.

-- Morgantown (20-20) beat Auburn, 6-2.  Luis Escobar made progress with his control issues, throwing 47 of 68 pitches for strikes.  He gave up two runs in six innings on five hits and a walk.  He struck out four.  Austin Meadows made a rehab appearance, going 0-3 and throwing a runner out at the plate.  Clark Eagan and Albert Baur each went 2-4.

-- Bristol (16-19) lost the continuation of its game with Elizabethton from yesterday, 3-0.  The game was limited by rain to five innings and the regularly scheduled game was rained out.  David Whitehead threw a scoreless inning yesterday before play was stopped.  Nick Hutchings gave up three runs in four innings after play resumed.  The Pirates had only two hits.  This is nothing new.  As Pirates Prospects pointed out this morning, Bristol ranks last in the Appalachian League by a wide margin in team OPS.  It also ranks next-to-last in staff ERA.

-- The GCL Pirates (14-17) lost to the Yankees East, 3-2.  Braeden Ogle's third pro outing was just OK.  He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing a run on two hits and two walks.  He didn't strike out anybody.  Mikell Granberry went 3-4 with a double.

Edison Lantigua:  0-4, 3 K

-- The DSL Pirates (16-31) lost to the Mets1, 6-0.  Yeudry Manzanillo gave up four runs on eight hits in five innings.  The offense managed just two hits.
