Like it did in 2017, PNC Park will host a college baseball game between West Virginia and Penn State in 2018, this one scheduled for Tuesday, April 10.
The Nittany Lions will again be the home team in 2018, after arranging the game by moving a previously rained-out home contest to Pittsburgh.
It’s good to see this sort of thing continue. An annual, promoted event could become a very good thing for various levels of baseball in the region.
The 2017 game drew a crowd of 2,474 — still more fans and spirit than a college game generally gets in this area, particularly when a Pittsburgh Penguins playoff Game 7 fell on the same evening.
