A few notes for Wednesday:
- The Pirates have announced that former reliever Joel Hanrahan has rejoined the Bucs organization as assistant pitching coach for the West Virginia Black Bears. Hanrahan, of course, had success as the Pirates’ closer in 2011 and 2012 before his career was undone by injuries. It’s nice to see he and the Pirates have found a way to keep him in the game. It will be strange but cool to see him in Morgantown.
- Jung Ho Kang had his court date today and admitted to driving under the influence. His verdict is March 3, so I’m guessing he won’t rejoin the Pirates until after that.
- David Todd will have Neal Huntington on his show on 970 ESPN at 4:05 today.
- Thanks, everyone, for your responses to the FanPost prompt about things to do in Bradenton. Here are the responses: Buccoman (this one is really useful), lloyd95, IAPiratesFan and MinorDog. I appreciate the insights; like I said in the prompt, I don’t have much direct knowledge of how best to spend time there.
- If anyone’s curious, my band’s new album came out yesterday. (The ninth track is NSFW.) We’re playing at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown on March 3 and Gooski’s in Pittsburgh on March 4.
