In addition to the cuts this morning, the Pirates sent out a pair of infielders following the game against the Orioles. They optioned Chris Bostick to Indianapolis and re-assigned Erich Weiss to minor league camp. Like many of the team’s younger players, both had been hitting well in the exhibitions. Bostick, who came in a trade from the Nationals for catcher Taylor Gushue, was batting 304/467/478 in 23 AB. Weiss, who homered today, hit 316/458/526 in 19 AB.
