Spring training thread: Stealth pitcher faces Phillies

MLB: Spring Training-New York Yankees at Pittsburgh Pirates Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Pirates hit the road to play the Phillies in a 1:05 PM start. The starter will be Josh Lindblom, who gets mentioned by just about nobody as a candidate to make the team but who’s sneakily had a very good spring. Jameson Taillon is scheduled to throw 100 pitches at Pirate City. The lineup:

  1. Jordy Mercer, SS
  2. Josh Bell, 1B
  3. David Freese, 3B
  4. John Jaso, RF
  5. Francisco Cervelli, C
  6. Jose Osuna, LF
  7. Austin Meadows, CF
  8. Gift Ngoepe, 2B
  9. Josh Lindblom, P

Other scheduled pitchers are Wade LeBlanc, A.J. Schugel and Jared Hughes, although Hughes pitched Saturday.
