I’m headed to Boston tomorrow for Opening Day. Before the season ramps into full swing, I wanted to post some links to recent podcasts from my show and lay out the weekly baseball schedule if your interested in tuning in at any point. The week’s guests included Jen Langosch of MLB.com to discuss the Cards, Marc Carig of Newsday to talk Mets and Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago to preview the Cubs. Weekly guests this season will appear as follows. Tuesday 5:00 pm: Joe Sheehan of the Joe Sheehan Newsletter and SI.com. Wednesday 5:30 pm: Tim Williams of Pirates Prospects. Thursday 4:30, (replay 6:30): Bob Smizik, longtime local beat writer and columnist. Travis Sawchik is also going to be a regular guest. We’re trying to figure out what fits bets with his new gig at Fangraphs. The first three were on the show this week and you can find the podcasts along with anything else from the show here.

As in years past, I expect to have Dave Schoenfield, Brian Kenney, Rob Neyer, Jonah Keri, Keith Law, Daren Willman, Mike Petriello, Grant Brisbee and others as frequently as possible. If there is someone you would like to hear, let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to get them on.

I’ll also do my best to continue to have Neal Huntington, Clint Hurdle, and Ray Searage as their schedules permit, although that has proven more difficult than you might imagine the past couple seasons.

And to wrap up, I have written up my thoughts on the Pirates’ roster decisions in three parts. Part 1 is the outlook and available roster spots for the 13 position players (I’m fully on the Adam Frazier bandwagon), Part 2 is what I expect them to do with Glasnow, Williams and the starting rotation (surprised Steven Brault is not in the mix and how is it possible Drew Hutchison pitching so poorly has people actually complimenting Neal?) and tomorrow I’ll post my thoughts on the bullpen. (Good decision to release Jared Hughes, when is the last time a pen had five lefties?) Enjoy the season!
