He managed to get through four innings on 64 pitches, but allowed five runs, three earned, on seven hits, two of them HRs. He walked one and struck out three. — Bradenton (9-3) beat Clearwater, 5-1. Dario Agrazal gave up a run on five hits in six innings. He walked none and fanned five. Jess Amedee and Seth McGarry added three perfect innings in relief. The three combined threw just 96 pitches.

— A day after scoring 13 runs, West Virginia (5-7) piled on for a 19-3 win over Hickory. Every player in the lineup had at least one of the team’s 22 hits and every one except Hunter Owen had at least one run and one RBI. The team had four HRs, as Logan Ratledge hit his third, Arden Pabst (pictured) and Sandy Santos each hit his second, and Alexis Bastardo hit his first, a grand slam. Those four players now have two more HRs combined than they had all last year. Ratledge finished with three hits, including a double, while Santos also had three hits and Pabst also had a double. Ty Moore went 4-6. The Power’s team batting average went from .258 before the game to .286 after. Starter James Marvel gave up a run over five innings. He allowed four hits and a walk, and struck out three.
