— Indianapolis (7-14) lost its starter pitcher but beat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre anyway, 8-5. Josh Lindblom had a 1-2-3 first inning, but the third batter lined one off his foot and he couldn’t continue. Cody Dickson, Pat Light and A.J. Schugel all scuffled some in relief, but the Indians got their bats in gear and the pitching they got was enough. Elias Diaz (pictured) led the way with three RBIs in a 3-4 game that included his first HR. Jason Rogers added his fourth and the still-hot Chris Bostick went 3-5 with his second HR, and second in two games. Dovydas Neverauskas came on in the ninth when Brett McKinney ran into trouble and fanned the last two hitters to pick up a save. Despite all the offense, Austin Meadows went 0-5 and is back down to .195.

Max Moroff: 3-5
Eric Wood: 2-4

— Altoona (12-9) hammered Harrisburg, 12-4. Connor Joe was 3-5 with three RBIs and Jordan Luplow hit his third HR. Maybe more importantly, Yeudy Garcia had a good start, allowing just one unearned run over five and two-thirds innings. He gave up five hits and two walks. Garcia even got by on the fairly reasonable total of 81 pitches, 47 of them strikes, and he doubled in two ABs.

Kevin Newman: 1-4, BB
Kevin Kramer: 0-3
Wyatt Mathisen: 0-3, BB

— Bradenton (12-11) dropped a 2-1 decision to Charlotte. Pedro Vasquez gave up the two runs in six innings on seven hits. He walked none and struck out two. The offense managed only five hits.

Cole Tucker: 1-4
Ke’Bryan Hayes: 0-4
Will Craig: 1-4
Mitchell Tolman: 0-2, 2 BB
Casey Hughston: 1-4

— West Virginia (10-14) lost to Rome, 6-1. Oddy Nunez gave up two runs on four hits and a walk in three innings. He didn’t strike out anybody. Blake Cederlind threw two and two-thirds scoreless innings, although he allowed three hits and two walks. He struck out one. The offense came on Hunter Owen’s first HR. Owen went 3-4.

Ty Moore: 2-4
Trae Arbet: 0-4
