The Pirates have announced that today’s game against the Red Sox has been postponed due to rain. As a result, the two teams will meet for their opening series finale on next Thursday, April 13th, at 2:05 pm. Unfortunately, this means the Bucs will now have a stretch of games where they play nineteen times in twenty days with the first thirteen of those games scheduled for consecutive days.
Chad Kuhl, who was slated to make his season debut this afternoon, may have his spot in the rotation skipped rather than pushing the starters back a game, but there are varying reports at this time. Although, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review is reporting that Ivan Nova will still be taking the mound tomorrow when the team hosts the Atlanta Braves for the home opener at PNC Park.
It would be remiss to not note that the National Weather Forecast is displaying a threat of precipitation in Pittsburgh on Friday that could potentially put that game in jeopardy as well.
