According to MLB.com, Jameson Taillon’s post-surgical pathology report revealed that he did in fact have testicular cancer. I don’t know that this changes anything, as it was most likely expected. There won’t be a treatment plan until after he gets re-examined next week. Obviously, there’s no timeline for his return to action and that still probably isn’t a priority.
The article does state that Taillon reported to PNC Park the last two days and resumed some light activities, such as playing catch and some cardio exercises. The Pirates hope he’ll be able to start traveling with the team after next week’s examination.
