Cannonballs coming: Jordan Luplow goes deep twice

— Indianapolis blew a late lead and lost to Rochester, 5-3. Drew Hutchison survived some control problems to allow one run in five innings. He gave up five hits and four walks, struck out five, and threw 57 of 90 pitches for strikes. Antonio Bastardo continued his rehab with a 1-2-3 inning. Dovydas Neverauskas blew a 3-1 lead, getting hammered for four runs, three earned, while recording only two outs in the 8th inning. Neverauskas has allowed seven earned runs in his last four and two-thirds innings, covering four outings. Elias Diaz went 2-4 with his second HR and Barrett Barnes 2-4 with a pair of doubles. Austin Meadows got the day off.

— Altoona got three solo HRs to beat Erie, 3-2. Two came from Jordan Luplow (pictured), who now has ten on the year. His second one came off Mike Zagurski. Kevin Kramer had the other HR, his fifth. Alex McRae managed to get through four innings while allowing seven hits but only two runs. He walked one and struck out three.

— West Virginia (22-25) lost its third straight since reaching .500, dropping a 3-2 game to Charleston. Cam Vieaux gave up three runs over five and two-thirds innings. He allowed seven hits and a walk, and struck out four. Adrian Valerio was 2-5 and is batting .444 (12-for-27) over his last seven games.
