Game Thread: Trevor Williams leads Pirates against Cubs

Trevor Williams takes the mound to open a potentially big weekend series between the unlucky and maybe not that great Pirates and the putzing around Cubs. The Cubs have placed Ben Zobrist on the disabled list with a wrist injury.

The teams will be wearing Negro League throwback uniforms tonight, with the Pirates in Homestead Grays threads and the Cubs in some particularly nice Chicago Leland Giants getups.

Kris Bryant is just getting the night off for Chicago. (And thanks to Carrie Muskat for the one-stop shopping.)
