Cannonballs Coming: Brault pitches six strong, Luplow hits 14th homer

Indianapolis pounded out 13 hits as they defeated Toledo in a 9-4 laugher. Steven Brault allowed one run over six innnings and recorded eight strikeouts. Joey Terdoslavisch was 4-4 on the evening while Chris Bostick, Jason Rogers, Anderson Feliz and Barrett Barnes all had two hits. After an anemic start Barnes has come alive and had an .819 OPS over his last 10 games. Austin Meadows had the night off.

Altoona beat Harrisburg 4-3 on only four hits as Wyatt Mathisen, Edwin Espinal and Jordan Luplow all hit solo homers. Tanner Anderson threw a lot of strikes and allowed a lot of hits (10), but walked no one and managed pitch 6 2-3 innings, surrendering only three runs. Tate Scioneaux, who flunked the Tony Watson School of Closing, pitched a scoreless ninth and has a WHIP of 0.84 on the year.

The weather must be something awful in Bradenton as two scheduled games were again postponed.

West Virginia lost to Delmarva 7-5. The Power received a more-than-solid start from James Marvel, who pitched five scoreless innings and allowed only two hits. Unfortunately, Blake Cederlind came in to pitch the top of the sixth and allowed seven runs on seven hits in 1 2-3. The Power had six hits and Alexis Bastardo was 2-4.
